Turkey, work-study and exit seminars are some of the events that have taken place in Family Four during November. After returning from a well deserved vacation, family leaders Jackie and Joe Petriella were excited to be back in Family Four to see the progress their students have made.
Raja A. received his first buddy in addition to being the new leader of the breakfast cooking crew.
Family Four December graduates David F., Eric G., Miranda B. and Sarah K. all returned from their home visits. Eric G. rotated his anchor to David F., giving Dave a chance to give back to his family before he moves on with his life.
Students have already received their exit letters and had their exit seminars, preparing them for their future.
Many of the students have already applied to colleges and are anxious to further their education and move on to bigger and better things.
Steven B., a Family Four December graduate said “I can’t wait, college seems very promising to both my sobriety and education.” Steven was accepted into his first choice college, Rutgers University.
Despite all the excitement and ambition, Family Four will miss the graduates. This was felt during the Thanksgiving break, which many of Family Four’s students enjoyed. Chris B. couldn’t wait to eat Thanksgiving dinner, asking throughout the day “Where’s the turkey at?”
With a new semester about to begin, some Family Four students have also applied for work-study. Mary B., Raja A. and Nick A. were thrilled to see their blank schedules, indicating they made the cut. They were excited for the opportunity to serve their fellow students and to start to pay their families back for their education.
