Tryouts for basketball and cheerleading have ended and several Family Seven students made the teams. Austin C. and Henry W. made the boys’ basketball team. Lexi S. and Marc S. both made the cheerleading squad and hope they can do their best to cheer on their Family Falcons. Jackie P. and Claire V. made the girls’ basketball team this year. Claire was made team captain.
Venture Crew took a hiking trip at the beginning of the month. Gianfranco V. and Maxwell L. had a great time hiking and hanging out with their friends.
With graduation nearing, the graduates have been having their exit groups and their last visits. They are planning out what they want to do with their lives after they leave the comfort and safety of The Family Foundation School. Graduates John O. and Drew F. plan on living with each other after they leave. They recently bought an apartment together and are excited to move in. Ben A. will attend SUNY-ESF in Syracuse, New York. Betty W. is heading back home to Virginia to attend Liberty College, with Joanna G. close by at Piedmont Community College. Chris S. was accepted to Rutgers, and is majoring in Business.
With the graduates’ upcoming departure, the family needs the “middle-of-the-roaders” to step up.
Rebecca H. and Marc S. also received the responsibility of junior sponsoring. Austin received both shadowing and junior sponsoring. Marc was given a buddy and sponsee, Evan P. Lexi earned back junior sponsoring and received her first buddy and new sponsee, Kate P.
Three of the Family Seven students were excited to see the work study list come out and find their names printed on it. Lexi earned the position in Library, Gianfranco V. is working on Frank’s Crew, and Nat L. will be working as the registrar.
Father Stephen held a dinner in Family Eight this month. Family Seven girls Lexi S., Jackie P., Claire V., Betty W., Sophie W., Emily T., and Rebecca H. attended and had a great time while getting to know the other girls on a closer level.
The Family Seven boys also got to spend time with Father Stephen. The boys went on a retreat early this month. Many said they had a great time, but it was hard to return to the school after it was over.
