This is the last All in the Family for Family Eight. After the upcoming graduation, Family Eight will be dissolved, and the students will be sent to other families.
Family Five will move into Family Eight’s old living area. Terry McCarthy will go to Family Two to become family counselor, and Lindy McCarthy will become the new family leader in Family Three. Throughout this diaspora of Family Eight, the leaders will try to keep the students with their sponsors as they are relocated.
The announcement was made on November 15. This gave the students of Family Eight an acute awareness of the brevity of their time left together, and it made them grateful for the time they had. This, however, didn’t make the news any easier to swallow. All of the students were upset, and few could keep their emotions in check. Even the graduates and alumni who will not be directly affected by the switch became emotional, as they remembered the good times they had experienced during their stay in Family Eight.
Terry McCarthy had a message and a mission for the students of Family Eight. When they arrive in their new families, Terry expects them to represent Family Eight well in order to become good examples for the other students in their new families, and to show what they had learned during their time in Family Eight.
From all of Family Eight, thank you Terry and Lindy for all of the love and support you have shown throughout all of our stays here, and thank you for the experience you have shared with us.
