Jonathan L.

July ‘07

After nine months at The Foundation Family School, Jonathan L. was taken out by his parents. He was turning eighteen and he was going to walk. When he went home he spent the summer going to meetings and when September came he started his senior year. In school he kept to himself and his school work. Jonathan made friends with people in the program outside of school.

Jonathan is now living in Wethersfield, Connecticut with his parents. He attends the University of Connecticut. Though he is still partially undecided, his goal is to master in education. Jonathan balances his time between school work, family, program, spirituality, his job at Starbucks and his girlfriend. He has a home group and has a sponsor. Jonathan and his parents have a better relationship than before. Spirituality is a big part of his life. He prays three times a day to his Higher Power and tries to meditate “as much as possible.” He was happy to be able to come back, and advised students coming up on graduation to “get to a meeting, get a sponsor, make commitments and start the step as soon as possible.”
