Margaret M.

Class of December ‘05

Margaret M. was a Family Three student who attended The Family Foundation School for four and a half years. She was sent here mainly for behavioral issues and family problems.

“Life is very up and down, it’s hard. I struggled with learning how to find the right relationship, but I have found that having one honest friend is better than having 15 friends,” said Margaret.

She and her father Brandon now have a “really good relationship.” She also believes “when you leave you’re going to discover that there is not just one answer to doing things the right way.

You have to find your own way of doing things; in the meantime you will fall and make mistakes.”

Margaret resides in Buffalo, New York, with her boyfriend Brian and her two beagles. During the week she spends her day working at State Farm Insurance and attends college for criminal justice and business at night.

On the weekend Margaret works at The Harness Track, in Saratoga Springs, New York, training horses. In her free time she enjoys hip hop dancing, photography and traveling.

The hip hop dancing she does is with a group of other women and the dances are made up by them.

“Sometimes we do competitions at dance clubs for fun,” said Margaret. For the struggling student, Margaret advises to “make what you learn here a lesson. This too shall pass; everything that comes along will go by.”
