Venture Crew troop #174 has reconvened on January 11, for the first time since graduation.
The first order of business was to elect new officials. With the exception of treasurer, all of the positions needed to be filled.
Under the guidance of Audra Towsley, troop leader, the troop held elections. Lauren I. was chosen to be president.
Among the president’s many roles is to call a meeting to order and decide what orders of business the crew will be addressing. Megan R. is the vice president. The vice president assists the president in organizing events and fundraisers.
Laura W. continued on with her job of treasurer. The treasurer’s main job is to keep track of the crew’s finances. Stepping into the position of quartermaster was Andrew S. The quartermaster has the responsibility of making sure the crew is ready to go on their trips, taking care of the details. Shari M. was elected secretary. The secretary’s job is to keep track of what Venture Crew’s upcoming projects are.
Julie C. was elected recruiter. The recruiter helps to encourage students to join Venture Crew.
The new officials are hoping to lead Venture Crew to their goals “to do their duty to God, and help strenthen America, to help others, and seek truth, fairness, and adventure in our world.”
