Recently, Emily W. spent the weekend in Hancock with two other alumni. On her visit back to the school she spoke with staff members Chris Stein, Mike and Rita Argiros and Sid Parham. She and the other alumni enjoyed the Winter Performance put on by the current Family Foundation School students.
“The Family School really prepared me for the army,” said Emily. Her experience in the army and as a journalist has made “life pretty excellent” for her, even though she felt the army wasn’t her thing. In the army she gained self confidence, learned how to be who she is and enjoyed the look into a new and different lifestyle.
Emily is now living in Portland, Oregon but has been traveling since June living “wherever her feet may fall.” The relationship she had with her parents when she first left was shaky. Now that there is trust in the relationship they share, it is a much better one.
