Julian B.
Class of December‘07
When Julian B. first left The Family Foundation School he went back home to Miami where he worked for Wachovia Securities as an intern along with taking night courses at the local community college.
While Julian was living in Miami he attended a meeting every day and continuing to live a happy and sober life. Julian always had a fear that when he left the school that life would go downhill and not be as good and as successful as he wished. One thing Julian really struggles with is how the economic crisis affects him and his parents.
After about nine months Julian went to Boston to attend Babson College. While living in Boston, Julian found meetings and also found a sponsor. A dilemma that he faced was not always having an available car so he cannot always attend his daily meeting. At first this upset him and also had him fear for his sobriety.
Since Julian left the school he says, “Life has thrown a lot of difficulties my way in the past few months, but I know if I weren’t sober I wouldn’t have been able to deal with them in an effective way.”
