The months of December and January were big months for Family Three. Family Three received ten students and staff from Family Eight, in the recent re-arrangement of the school.

The students and staff that joined Family Three from Family Eight are Gil M., Wes G., Matt S., Isaac M., Brenda M., Jackie P., Nellie Peters, Jason Garner, Dick Szczesh, and new family leader Lindy McCarthy.

“Unity and compassion are the expectations for the “new” Family Three,” said staff member Pam Allen.

In December the boys and girls in Family Three were put on blackout with each other. This sanction helped the students become more courteous and respectful to each other.  Greg G. said, “I think the blackout was necessary because some boys didn’t know how to treat girls properly and some girls have hard feelings with boys because of the way they were treated at home. The blackout helped everyone treat each other right and get over past resentments.”

Family leader Cindy Argiros retired from The Family Foundation School and will be missed greatly by the whole school especially Family Three. Lindy McCarthy came to Family Three from Family Eight and will step in as the new family leader.

Britney L. said, “At first I was really mad because Cindy was one of the first people I could open up to, but with Lindy becoming the new family leader it gives me a whole new perspective on how to trust new people.”

Nanci Newcomb came to Family Three from Family Seven and will be the new counselor for the students.

Family Three graduated four senior members on December 13th. Since graduation Britney L., Greg G., and John A. received anchors.

Diego N., Nick B., and Wes G. received junior sponsoring and have really stepped up in the family.  In addition, Danny R. and Gil M. received the responsibility of buddy and shadowing.

Family Three has high hopes for the upcoming semester with all the new ideas the old Family Eight members have brought to the family.
