Family Four News

After a long winter, Family Four decided that it’s time to go out and have some well deserved fun.

Joe and Jackie Petriella, the leaders of Family Four, plan on taking the family on a trip sometime in the beginning of March.  They hope to go roller-skating or rock climbing, along with viewing a movie and maybe taking the family to eat out at a restaurant.

Sean M. and Claire B. gladly received RA pins in February, joining Lauren I., who received hers in December. Joe Petriella, when asked about why he gave RA pins to Sean and Claire, said “They were both long overdue to become RAs.  They really deserve it.  They’ve been a huge help, the both of them.”

“I’m excited to have more of an opportunity to help, but I am also nervous about the added pressure to not make mistakes,” said Claire.

Family Four’s athletes had a busy month. For the golf team, Evan H. and JT H. tried out. Both made the team. No Family Four girls tried out for the softball team this season, but almost all of them are keeping busy with chorus and show choir.

With the end of the basketball season, Pat C., Sean, both members of the boys basketball team, say that they are relieved to see the season end but that they will miss playing on the team.

Sean, 18, worked hard to complete a project in order to become an Eagle scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts of America. “I’m refurbishing the police station. It will consist of making a paperwork shelf to organize, repainting the outside of the station, putting up a literature holder, and making a welcome sign outside the station.” said Sean before his project was complete.

To become an Eagle Scout, Sean had to have his project completed by the time he turned 18. The project was successfully completed on March 1, the day before his eighteenth birthday. Sean explained about his project “It’s pretty stressful. At times it’s hard, but I’m looking forward to giving back to the community.  It’s been a big turnaround”
