FFS Falcons Boys’ Basketball Team Wins 62-44 Against Chapel Field Lions

The Family Foundation School Falcons qualified for a spot in the Section IX playoffs when they beat the Chapel Field Lions at The Family School, 62-44, on February 10.

The Falcons took a 12-9 lead in the first quarter as Falcons’ power forward Danny R. put up six points. Lions’ leading scorer Jimmy Green scored seven out of the nine points for his team.

Danny scored another four points in the second quarter as Falcons’ center and leading scorer Khalfani M. also scored four points, helping the Falcons keep the lead, 24-21, at halftime. Lions’ Danny Menendez, who averages 21 points per game, scored 9 out of the 11 points for the Lions.

During the third quarter, Lions’ Menendez and Green kept their team alive by scoring all of their 13 points. Green put up seven while Menendez pitched in with six. But the Falcons kept the lead 38-34, by putting up 14 points.

The fourth quarter was when the Falcons broke free of their single digits lead. They dominated with 24 points as the Lions trailed with 10, making the final score of the game 62-44.

Khalfani scored a total of 21 points and Danny had 15. The Lions’ Green had a total of 19 points.

“The second half was a different game. Our defense was really great and we ran our offenses very well. We took over in the fourth quarter,” said Head Coach Ted Towlsey.
