The results are in. The village of Hancock now welcomes Celia Vazquez as their new mayor. Bill Schoonmaker and Dottie Picozzi were also elected as trustees.
Vazquez, who is not a native of the village, said, “I have to thank the village for breaking their traditions and electing me as mayor. I’m glad the people chose change.”
Dottie Picozzi, who is a resident of the village, was also grateful to the community for electing her as a trustee. “I have to thank all of those in the community who chose me to be their trustee,” she said.
Bill Schoonmaker was also voted trustee. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the village voters for allowing me the honor and priveledge to serve as a village trustee,” said Schoonmaker. He wants to make Hancock “a better place for all.”
The newly elected officials are all grateful for receiving the opportunity to serve Hancock.
