The Family Foundation School Falcons had their first scrimmage against the Hancock Wildcats on Friday, March 27, at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex in Binghamton, N.Y. The Lady Falcons played hard but lost 19-0 to the Wildcats.

The Falcons led off but it was a one-two-three inning. They fought back with two strikeouts from their pitcher Denise T. and a fly out.

Falcons’ shortstop Sarah V. got a single and stole two bases for her team in the second inning. Wildcats’ pitcher struck out two girls and finished off the Falcons with a ground out.

The Wildcats got a single and brought their player home with an RBI double. The score was 1-0 as the third inning approached.

The Wildcats cranked up their game and scored five more runs in the third inning and kept the Falcons from scoring.

Denise racked up another two strikeouts in the fourth inning, but this didn’t stop the Wildcats from scoring another seven runs.

The fifth inning brought another four runs in for the Wildcats as the Falcons remained at 0.

The final inning went quickly for both teams. Three strikeouts for the Falcons, and two more runs for the Wildcats.

Despite the lopsided score, the Falcons and Wildcats had a good time practicing for the season. “We put a lot of effort in the game,” said Sarah. “Now we know what we need to work on.”

Both Head Coach Missy Dunlap and Assistant Coach Milenda McAndrew learned a lot about their team. “It was a good learning experience. It will prepare us for the season,” said Dunlap.
