During this month all of the families had the opportunity to leave campus, enjoy an activity, and go out for dinner. There have been different choices made by each family, and all the students and staff that went had fun. They bonded with each other, spent time letting their inner child shine through.
Family One and Family Four went together on their Cabin Fever trip. They all tried their best to knock down as many pins as they could at Fox Bowling Lanes, followed by a pizza party which was enjoyed at Father Rausch Hall and attended the Capra Cinema to watch “Grand Torino” in Hancock. When the movie was over the students hopped on the bus and returned to the school.
On March 15, Family Two spent the day in Oneonta. They roller-skated and enjoyed the good weather at a park, and then ate a delicious meal at Brooks BBQ. “It was a super good time. Roller skating was really fun,” said James R., student from Family Two.
Family Three travelled to Syracuse to the Zoo, and later enjoyed the “Ring of Fire” at the IMAX theater in the Science Museum. In between they enjoyed dining at the Spaghetti Warehouse. “This was the first time in 10 years that I went to a zoo, and I had forgotten that it was fun,” said Family Three’s Diego N.
Family Five attended the Skate Estate and The Great Chinese Buffet. At the Skate Estate they rollerbladed and played laser tag. “It was really fun for our whole family to come together after the hard times we have gone through,” said Nicole K.
Family Six went to the Riverfront Sports Center in Scranton, Pa. The students enjoyed playing different sports and they also had the opportunity to sumo wrestle against one another. Before returning to the school, the students ate at The Great Chinese Buffet.
Family Seven will be going on their Cabin Fever Trip at the beginning of April.
