Joe R.
Class of June 2006
Joe R. graduated from The Family Foundation School in June 2006. Joe’s biggest struggle since leaving FFS is finding a healthy balance between FFS and reality. Getting locked in with meetings, finding a sponsor and a support group has helped Joe the most with his struggles.
Joe lives in Scranton, Pa., and attends Marywood University with fellow alumni from the school. During his free time Joe is the lead singer in a hardcore band called CHURCH (Christ Helping Us Reach Cold Heart). Joe works at a ski and snowboarding shop, and enjoys hanging out with his friends in recovery.
Joe’s advice to the newcomer is “Be honest with yourself. If you don’t think that you have a problem, don’t just say it because people want to hear it.” Joe returned to FFS with other alumni and enjoys sharing with others what has helped him in recovery.
