Sun Moon Stars Rain, a novel by Family Foundation School English teacher Jan Cheripko, was selected as a finalist for the Audie Awards in the category of Best Audio Drama.
Cheripko’s audiobook is up against the likes of Tales from the Perilous Realm by J.R.R. Tolkien and The Odyssey by Homer.
Cheripko, who has six other books in print, said, “The experience of watching professional actors bring to life the words I had written was amazing.”
The Audies® are sponsored by the Audio Publishers Association (APA), a not-for-profit trade organization dedicated to creating a public awareness of the audio publishing industry.
“I had no idea about the competition, but the award is based on audio production not quality of literature,” commented Cheripko.
The winners in each category will be recognized at the 2009 Audies Gala, on May 29, at the New York Historical Society in New York City, N.Y.
“Cheripko has a good ear for prose, and a good chance of winning this award,” commented Sid Parham, former Professor Emeritus of English from St. Cloud State University.
