Easter Escapades

In celebration of Easter, students at The Family Foundation School had a day full of great food, outdoor activities, and time with friends.

To start the day off with an outdoor activity, Family Five’s Joe Rogalavich set up an Easter egg hunt for the entire school. Each family began by hiding 140 eggs filled with candy in a designated area on the campus. The families then proceeded to go on a mad dash to hunt for the hidden eggs. Every area had one special egg stuffed with a golden ticket. Whoever found the golden ticket won a chocolate Easter bunny.

While most of the school was outside enjoying the beautiful (but chilly) Sunday morning, others spent their time being of service to the school. Led by Joe Barbiere, a crew of students and staff devoted themselves to working in the kitchen, preparing Easter dinner.

Gil M., a cook for Easter dinner, said “I loved it. It was very gratifying to be able to cook the meal for the school, and then enjoy it with my family.”

After a scrumptious dinner, the students went outside for some afternoon activities.

The first game was the bunny hop, where each student ran and jumped over four hoola-hoops and ran back.

Up next was the bean bag toss, which was a bit of a challenge with the strong wind and the targets many feet away.

After that the students placed a hard boiled egg on a spoon and had to balance it while running to the end of the course and back without dropping it.

“The whole day was planned really nicely for us. Aside from the wind, the activities were fun and the food was delicious,” exclaimed Henry W.
