Bowling, pizza, and movies! An exciting month for Family Seven as they enjoyed their “Cabin Fever” trip in Honesdale, Pa.

Students had a chance to test their bowling skills as their first stop was the bowling alley. Bowling was quite interesting according to staff member Jan Cheripko, “several people had different styles [of bowling].” Student Evan P. used what Cheripko referred to as “the granny roll,” which is the throwing of the bowling ball with two hands after swinging it between both legs.

Different styles proved to be more effective than others, however, as Dave M., the family’s high scoring bowler, scored a 166.

After bowling, the family went to Elegantes, an Italian eatery, to order some gourmet food. “It’s hard to believe, but there was actually pizza left over,” Cheripko commented.

Their next stop was a local park where they played a game of capture the flag.

Once the game was over, Family Seven traveled to the movie theater and was given a choice of three movies, Fast and Furious, 12 Rounds, and Monsters vs Aliens.

“The movie [Fast and Furious] wasn’t fantastic, but I did enjoy spending time with the family,” said student Kendra S.

Before returning to campus, the family stopped to get a bite to eat at a local McDonalds.

Student Gianfranco V. described the trip as, “an enjoyable bonding experience.”
