Family Falcons’ shortstop Sarah V. stepped into the batter’s box in the first inning with no score and three of her teammates on base. She crushed the ball into the outfield leaving her with a grand slam and her team with four runs in the first inning. “It was really exciting and it gave us a good start to the game,” said Sarah.

The Falcons traveled to Grahamsville April 22 to play the Tri-Valley Bears in a non-league game. They took the win with help from Sarah’s early grand slam and 5 RBI for the game.

The Bears couldn’t come back from this early deficit. Falcons’ catcher Joslyn P. was a major support to the team adding two hits and scoring three times, “but we still have things to work on,” Joslyn said.

The final score of the game was Family School 10, Tri-Valley 7.
