The Hancock community will be holding its third Annual Walk for Education on Sunday, June 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Firemen’s Park.
The event is sponsored by the Hancock Community Education Foundation (HCEF). The HCEF’s goal is to “increase as rapidly as possible the number of Hancock students who graduate and go on to college.”
Since 2000, the foundation has awarded approximately $336,000 to Hancock Central School graduates.
Registration for the walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. There are no restrictions on who can walk and all are encouraged to attend.
It costs $15 to enter the walk. Upon entering, a free t-shirt will be given to participants. Profits will be used for the Lisa DaBrescia and Michael Jenson scholarship funds. For more information about the event, call the Hancock Community Education Foundation office at (607)637-5262 or visit www.hancockeducationfoundation.com.
