The Family Falcons welcomed the Fallsburg Comets to their home course at French Woods for the first time this season. The Falcons’ number one golfer, Andrew A., was on fire at the beginning of the match.
After parring the first hole, Andrew sank a 30-foot putt for an early birdie on hole two.
Gill M., the number three golfer, had some trouble on holes one and two, but followed Andrew’s leadership and birdied hole three, a short par five. Gil finished the remaining six holes with two pars, two bogeys, and two double bogeys for a final score of 46.
Andrew continued shooting well after his birdie, parring hole three, but then ran into some trouble on four, shooting a double bogey.
After his minor slump, Andrew ran into some real trouble on hole five, which he has been struggling with all season. He shot seven over par with twelve strokes total.
Andrew finished the rest of the course well, with two pars and two bogeys.
Andrew ended up with a final score of 46, just two strokes shy of the Comets’ number one golfer.
Jon H., Andrew’s partner, shot a 48. Nash B., the Falcons’ number five golfer, got a 54, and his partner, Alex B., shot a 51.
Despite their shaky performance, the Falcons pulled out a victory, beating the Comets by eight strokes, with a final score of 245-253.
