Family Seven will say farewell to seven students on graduation day this June.
Family Seven’s Max L. is a program graduate entering eleventh grade. “I just found out that I’m graduating the program a few weeks ago. My family and I are very happy, and I know I have a good chance at success when I leave,” said Max in anticipation of graduation. “The message I want to leave [Family Seven] is not to get down on oneself when mistakes happen, and to keep caring for one another,” he continued. Andrew D. also graduated the program. Mary F., Dan C., Gianfranco V., Claire V., and Nat L. graduated with high school diplomas.
To cope with the effects of the graduates’ departure, Family Seven’s boys and girls are putting forth a strong effort to help the family come together.
“I see that there are struggles in the family and I’m just trying to hold myself and others accountable in order to stay unified,” said Henry W. about his personal effort to help Family Seven.
This month Dave M. received his first buddy and sponsee, Lee D. Liam M. has shown improvement and now has the ability to buddy and shadow.
Students also stayed busy in June with finals, SATs, ACTs, and Regents exams.
Austin C., Kendra S., and Henry were excited to find out they were next semester’s new student interns.
“I’m really relieved that finals are over, and I’m excited for the new semester,” said Austin.
