Graduation is here! As a way to celebrate, Family Four attended Oquaga Creek State Park with Family One for a day of fun.
The family said goodbye to Nick A., Chris B., Raja A., Sean M., Lauren I., Clare B., and Jake S.
Family Four has welcomed two new students this month; Nicole H.’s buddy, Rebecca B., and Rebecca C.’s buddy, Sapphire R. “I’m very happy with the way that they are transitioning,” said Joe Petriella, Family Leader.
With the departure of seven senior members from Family Four, Jimmy S. and Kevin B. received buddy and shadowing and Rebecca C. received junior sponsoring. “Dorm leaders and junior sponsors will be changing soon, too,” said Petriella.
“The boys and the girls in the family have been getting along well. The girls have been laying down the law with the boys,” explains Petriella.
With the new semester approaching quickly, several students are going to be doing The Family School’s student intern program. Tom O. is going to be working in boys’ laundry and the health office. Sarah W. is going to be in campus life and girls’ laundry. Pat C. is working in the IT department. Khalfani M. is working in the library and mail. Zeke G. is doing dog training.
Although graduation is a hard transition for all of The Family Foundation School, Family Four is looking at it with an optimistic attitude.
“The family is going to be fine because kids are stepping up and filling in the holes that the graduates will be leaving,” said Pat.
