Girls’ and boys’ basketball, soccer, forensics, dance, softball, cheerleading, and the rest of the competitive extracurricular activities, as well as drama and dance were featured at the 9th annual FFS awards banquet on Saturday, June 13.

The evening began with a brief address from Mike Argiros, President of The Family Foundation School followed by a candle lit dinner. The evening was semi- formal with the boys wearing shirts and ties and the girls’ dresses.

When dinner was finished and dessert was being served, the ceremonies began. Presentations about each activity included a speech from the coach or director and a video of the highlights from the year. Each student who participated in an extracurricular activity was called up to the stage and given a certificate of achievement and an activity pin.

Journalism interns Louis L., Megan R., and Andrew S., with the help of alumnus Kate S., prepared a video of memorable moments from the activities, such as, the Family Singers performing in Hershey, Pa., goals being scored during the soccer season, and scenes from the drama productions. Journalism intern Louis L. said, “The awards banquet video took a lot of work, but I think that it turned out very well.”

As the banquet came to an end, the students spent some time preparing for a night of dancing.
