Saturday May 30 was an exciting day for five Family Foundation School girls. Laura W., Sophie W., Tara R., Becca B., and Natasha S. enjoyed an afternoon of horseback riding lessons at Cat Hollow Farms in Deposit, N.Y.

After a quick grooming lesson, the girls were ready to tack up and ride! Patty Cammer, owner of Cat Hollow Farms instructed the girls in English-style riding. Cammer had three barn helpers, Taylor, Aubrin, and Haley who guided the intermediate level trainees.

The three have been riding and helping Cammer at the farm for a couple of years.

Cammer has been trying for a long time to get FFS students to come for lessons. She succeeded with the help of Audra Towsley, who has been a lead in organizing this opportunity.

Cat Hollow Farms was built in 1993 and has been offering riding lessons since its opening. Cammer has been riding all her life and has grown up with horses. She got her Riding Instructor Certificate from Meredith Manor in West Virginia. and she is a certified riding instructor in all of riding disciplines.

In the weeks to come other students from FFS will be taking advantage of this new opportunity.
