The Family Foundation School is home to many singers, dancers, and musicians; these gifted students are hard to miss. However, many of their talents transcend the everyday, run of the mill high school garage band or ballet dancer.
While creative minds at The Family School are in abundance, the kids rarely have the opportunity to exhibit their skills, due to their busy schedules at the school. For this reason, student government representative Max L. and staff member Joe Rogalavich decided to organize a talent show.
Once the flyers promoting the show were posted, the students were asked to describe their acts on index cards and hand them into Max. Max commented, “Although I do think the students’ response could have been more enthusiastic, I am satisfied with the number of students who have signed up and the diversity among the acts.”
The acts ranged from Family Seven’s Andrew D. and Rosie E. singing a rendition of “Everything’s Alright” from Jesus Christ Superstar to a fusion of ballet and rock with Family Five’s Cajai FJ dancing to “Flowing” by 311.
After only a few weeks’ practice, the performers put on a great show. Rogalavich commented, “For the little amount of time they had to practice, I thought it was really good.”
“The acts were absolutely phenomenal, and the students seemed to really have put a lot of work into each specific detail of their performance,” said Family One student Ricky S.
