Dodgeball Mania Provides Fun-Filled Energy Release

With a lot of kids looking to have fun, each of the houses played an indoor dodgeball tournament in the Family Foundation School gym.

The tournament consisted of a variety of games; each of the houses playing each other individually; all girls; all boys; and an all-out three-on-three house war.

A lot of the kids at the school enjoy dodgeball because it is one of those games that get the adrenaline pumping. The host of the tournament was Scott Cole, who also moderated the games. Originally, a game of Capture the Flag was proposed but the rain interfered with that plan. “I wish I could have played, but, unfortunately, I could not do that this time and I had to sit back and monitor the games,” said Cole.

The outcome of the tournament was the same outcome as the one before: Mann House won. They were undefeated in the tournament. “To take out our frustrations on others in a fun game is a beautiful thing,” said Mann House student Mike M.

One particular game that caught everyone’s eye was the game between Betton House and Wilson House. Both teams were eager to rush the line and get as many people out as possible. However, various strategies came into play as the game became a question of skill, moves, and efficiency.

Betton House started to wear down its opponent as several of Wilson House’s star players got out of the game, and things looked grim. But Wilson House fans started cheering on the people who were still playing and the game took a turn.

Kyle F. was the last player for Betton House. What seemed a certain victory for his team became a defeat as a Wilson House player pegged Kyle on the arm in the Betton House backfield, sealing the win. Betton House student Frank D. said, “When in doubt, knock him out.”

The things that look like they are not going to be fun usually turn out as the best things we can do for fun.
