This Labor Day at the Family Foundation School, bounce houses, dunk tanks and waterslides were available for an afternoon of fun. The carnival followed the annual race where the students and staff cheered on runners around the campus.
Kurt Hock, English teacher and member of the Recreation Committee at FFS, started the Labor Day race. Hock was pleased with this year’s participation saying, “The level of enthusiasm with the students was good. They enjoyed the race.”
The race was three-fourths of a mile around the FFS campus and eight runners from each family participated. Wilson House was the first to finish with Mann House trailing close behind.
Joe Rogalavich, head of the Recreation Committee, planned the events with help from Alexa S. and the rest of Student Government. Booths with games gave students the opportunity to win tickets. The tickets allowed students to participate in the water slide, dunk tank, bounce houses and purchase food. “It was a lot of preparation, but the carnival was a success,” said Alexa.
