Close, but no cigar! On September 15, a chilly but sunny Tuesday, the Lady Falcons matched up to Chapel Field but lost 2-1.

“It was one of the best games we have played, and even though we lost, everyone gave it their all and played as hard as they could,” said Lady Falcon midfielder, Sam F.

During the first half of the game, the Falcons gave up a penalty kick from a handball in the box, in which Chapel Field’s Brianna Sofia capitalized and scored.

Midway through the game, Falcons midfielder Nadine N. hustled to the ball and stole it from a Chapel Field player. She quickly passed the ball downfield to forward Sarah V. Sarah took a few steps and fired from the right corner of the top of the box and the ball flew over the Chapel Field goalie, Jaime-Lynn Morrow, which tied up the game at 1-1.

“The goal was a big help to our scoring season and hopefully there will be more of that in the future,” said Sarah. This goal not only put the ladies on the board but it helped to motivate them.
Late in the game, Sofia scored again which made the score 2-1, Chapel field.

“Defensively as well as offensively, we played aggressive by putting pressure on them,” said Lady Falcons head coach, Scott McDonald. “I was very pleased with the game because it was the first game that we looked and played like a quality soccer team.”
