An upcoming series by HBO – Henry W.
Richard Russo, a Pulitzer prize- winning author, is involved in a new HBO series based on drilling for gas in the Marcellus Shale in upstate New York. The series is set in the Catskill Mountains, believed to hold the largest reservoir of natural gas ever discovered in America. The series will begin four years in the past and will allow the gas drilling history to play out. It was inspired by a 2008 article in New York Magazine by David France, who will serve as a consulting producer on the project. The viewers get a look at both the positives and negatives of the gas drilling process.
