Firemen to Host Hancock Fall Festival

September 22, 2009

By Liam M.

The Hancock Fire Department has taken the reigns for this year’s Hancock Fall Festival. Residents will converge on Fireman’s Field on October 10 and 11 to celebrate the end of summer and the turning of the leaves.

Kids can expect all their favorite carnival rides, and more sweets than a Halloween party. There will be pumpkin and face painting, and a pie baking contest sponsored by the Hancock Education Foundation. Adults can enjoy everything from wine-tasting to softball. The Presbyterian Church will sponsor a chicken barbecue, and the band “Gone Fishing” will supply music.

The 2-day event will culminate in the Bob Ray Tractor Parade and a community bonfire.
