Christian H.

Class of June ‘09

Christian H. came to the school for a number of reasons. Stealing, substance abuse, defiance, and most of all, a horrible relationship with his family. After getting arrested for the third time, he got sent to The Family Foundation School on September 16, 2006.

During his stay here he decided not to do anything that could improve his life. A year and a half flew by before the thought occurred to him: Maybe I should get honest. That’s when things started to change. If it had not been for that decision, life might have not turned out as well as it has for him now.

After he got honest, he started participating in a lot of the activities around the school, including basketball, soccer, and journalism. Later on he received responsibilities and was 12-Stepping in Family Five (now Smith House). He graduated in June 2009 and has been doing well ever since.

Christian currently enjoys playing basketball with his friends, riding his BMX bike, going to the park, and playing his guitar. However, his main activities include working two jobs which involve working at a restaurant and working with a carpenter. He is starting school next March. He hangs out with other alumni including John I., Heather G., and Megan R. His message to the newcomer is, “Take what you can from the school and live your life.”
