Journalism and Yearbook Merge

After last June’s graduation, more than 50 students left the school. Since that time, the Family Foundation School has lacked the adequate number of students to produce a yearbook in the required time period. Ann Kozak, yearbook advisor, recognized this problem and asked for help.

In response, Mike Argiros, president of FFS, and Chris Stein, publisher of The Family Times, came to the conclusion that it would a good idea if the journalism and yearbook departments combined. This would mean that the students of journalism would continue to produce the monthy paper as well as make the 2010 yearbook.

Since the yearbook students receive an elective credit for their class, each person in the new journalism/yearbook class is going to receive an English, journalism, and yearbook credit.
Evan H, sports editor of The Family Times, said, “I like the idea of combining the two classes, because we will be receiving an extra credit for the class, which will look good for college.”
Josh W. joined the journalism department from yearbook and Ross A. moved from the soccer field to the desktop to help with the projects.

For the first time since June, 1998, the FFS yearbook will be published in time for June graduation, which will give students the opportunity to sign each other’s yearbooks and get contact info for their friends.
