NYRI Plans Denied

After a long, hard fight, the New York Regional Interconnect’s (NYRI) plans are finally buried six feet underground. Thanks to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the power line company’s plans have been ultimately denied. On October 16, the commission turned down NYRI’s latest request to reconsider their plans to build hazardous power lines through the state of New York.

“I applaud FERC’s decision to deny NYRI’s request.” said Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY).
NYRI requested another hearing on the subject, but Hinchey and his colleagues still express their opposition to NYRI.
