The 2009 Hancock Fall Festival, held at Firemen’s Field on October 10, was full of laughter and autumn cheer, according to the six FFS students who attended.
Khalfani M, Joe C, Oleg F, Kendra S, Alexis S. and Rosie E. from The Family Foundation School volunteered to help the organizers of the festival. Their experience turned out to be exciting and satisfying.

While Khal H. and Joe C. learned to make apple cider from scratch, Alexis S. and Kendra S. assisted the festival-goers in painting pumpkins. Rose E. painted the faces of the many children who attended, as well as a few adults who were feeling festive.

The Hancock Fall Festival is held annually as a fundraiser for various organizations in Hancock. Most of the money raised goes to the Hancock Community Education Foundation to support its children’s center, after-school programs, and scholarship fund.
The festival included a tractor parade, and was an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the season.“It was one of the best times I’ve had at the school,” said Kendra S.
