Wilson House sure has been busy this month. Students Josh R., Paul P. and Chris B. spent the weekend of November 6 on retreat at Mt. Savior Monastery in Pine Hill, N.Y. The following weekend, Joanna B. and Samantha F. joined the girls’ retreat at the monastery.
After two weeks of basketball tryouts, Joanna B., Regina C., Jill M., and Emily M. were chosen to play with the Lady Falcons, while Rob W. and Kevin G. made the boys’ team.
Senior members are doing a great job of helping the newer students, including 13-year-old newcomer Jakub K. Jakub moved from Poland to America two years ago. Sylvia Gutowska, Wilson House staff, is also from Poland and has been helping him adjust. Sylvia and Kurt Hock spent three weeks in Poland last month and brought back lots of photos which they have been sharing with the family and their classes.
Also on an international note, Wilson House said goodbye to Alex B. who returned to his home this month in Manchester, England. He will definitely be missed by his Wilson House friends.
As the midterm exams draw near, students are helping one another prepare for the Regents. As the weather has gotten colder, the family has been relaxing together indoors more and watching movies.
Wilson House will soon say goodbye to December graduates Paul P. and Oleg F. Paul is off to Suffolk University, and Oleg to the University of Staten Island.
Birthdays: Brianna N. and Matt B.
