Things are running smoothly up in Talbot House and everyone is doing their part to make the month of November the best it can be.
The basketball team lists finally came out and Marc S., Yves K., and Jack S. made the boys’ team, while Kate D. and Alyssa C. made the girls’ team. They are all working hard at practice now as the Falcons get ready for the upcoming season.
Henry W., Austin C., and Kendra S. are graduating in a few short weeks. All of their college applications are in and they’re patiently waiting for responses.
During the first weekend of November, Liam M., Austin C., Matt V., Dave M., and Andrew D. went to the Mt. Savior Monastery in Pine Hill, N.Y. They were part of a larger group of students from each House chosen to go and further explore their Christian beliefs, get closer to their Higher Power, and literally live with monks. They spent the weekend there going for walks, attending Mass, meditating, and doing a whole lot of praying. “All outside matters don’t matter when you’re there. You forget about your troubles,” said Liam after his return. Talbot House also brought back a plaque that Jan Cheripko got them to hang in their house.
