Yoni S.

Class of December 2008

Former Family Foundation School student Yoni S. recently visited the campus with friends Louis L. and Pat M. Drugs, alcohol, and bad relationships ruled his life until he arrived at the school on September 26, 2006. “I was pretty depressed for my first ten months, but then I got so miserable that I just started to do something about it.”

Yoni is now attending Hunter College in New York City as a full time student. Attending A.A. meetings has helped him to stay sober. He also maintains his principle of only hanging out with sober people so that he can enjoy normal activities without the risk of using. Going to concerts and movies with friends is one of his favorite things to do when he is not in school.

Yoni’s the perfect example of someone who has found a balance between sobriety and living a fulfilling, adventurous life. In Family One he was a leading example of a student who goes through ups and downs and works through them. He now lives a happy life and advises students to just give the program a shot so they have a chance at the life he and many other alumni have today.
