Hey Guys,
We got your sample copies of The Family Times today. Your sections and pieces on the natural gas drilling issue are well-researched, well-written and timely. In fact, I’ve been having a back and forth debate with my mom for several months now on this very issue, with me taking a “wait and see” approach.
I had no idea until yesterday (after my mother sent me this link to this report) that as of six months ago over 25 percent of Hancock had been leased. That report opened my eyes. But, your reporting and evidentiary proof that these facilities and pads are proceeding with the thinnest possible regard for the environment has served as a tipping point in my position: that under present laws, the gas companies absolutely cannot be trusted to act responsibly, or with due regard to our water supply. They must be halted until the law changes and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) gets its teeth back.
Thank you for your pieces and tell your students to keep up the great work.
Sincerely,
Craig Chapman
