Father Stephen Holds a Vigil for the Graduates
By Matt V.
To conclude the day of recollection and baccalaureate, Father Stephen Morris offered to hold a vigil and midnight Mass for the December graduates of The Family Foundation School.
Students met at Whiting Hall to head up to the chapel at 9:00 p.m. They arrived to see it dimly lit and received candles to light for their friends. Then the graduates gathered around the altar as their friends went up to the podium and said their goodbyes and blessings.
Mass began at midnight, and when it ended everybody except a select few went back to their dorms.
The students who stayed behind prayed the psalms all night until the Rorate Mass the next morning. Some of them brought their coats and blankets, and America Restaino made tea for everyone to help keep them warm throughout the night.
“We began with Psalm 1, when students came for morning Mass, Sean C. was just finished with Psalm 150, so we have indeed prayed through the night,” said Father Stephen.
