Mann House has gone through a lot of changes in the last two months. The students and staff said their farewells to December ’09 graduates Khalfani M., Patrick C., Thomas O., and Ezekiel G.
With the graduates gone, Sarah V., Jordon N., Alex R., Brian O. and Rebecca C. have taken the initiative to step up and become moral support for the family. Alex and Evan P. received shadowing: Evan H., J.T. H., and Kevin B. received Junior sponsoring, and Rebecca received an anchor.
During the winter break all of the families competed in a House Challenge which included competitions in bowling, sports, arts and crafts, cleaning of the families, board games, and a talent show. At the end of the break Mann House was in first place and won an off-campus pizza party and movie. “I’m extremely proud of their hard work and determination and I never doubted for a minute that they would do well in the competition,” said family leader Joe Petriella.
With the merging of two more families Mann House has given a warm welcome to former Smith House staff members Ann and Gerald Janauer along with their sponsees Jajce W., Jason D., and Drew L. “My first day in the family I noticed how the family interacted like a unit. It was extremely different from Smith House,” said Jason.
