Chris B.

Class of June ‘08

Chris B. arrived at The Family Foundation School on October 6, 2006, in Family Three (now known as Lake House) because of substance abuse, bad relationships, and other dangerous behaviors.

He started doing real work his last year here when reality set in about life. He realized that if he continued to make the same kinds of decisions he had been making, his life would be in shambles.

Chris played for the FFS basketball team. He also organized basketball and Frisbee tournaments. He said the thing he misses about the school is the relationships with friends and staff he had made, most particularly with his sponsor, Larry Patrisso.

Chris graduated in June 2008 and has done very well ever since. He attends Brookdale Community College and works as a computer tech there, the same job he had while at FFS as the IT Department intern. His free time is spent playing hockey, and hanging out with friends. He owns an apartment with a friend who has two years’ sobriety. His message to the newcomer is “it works if you work it.”
