For most of his stay at The Family Foundation School, Andre G. struggled with unwillingness and resistance. Andre arrived on February 21, 2006. He was put into Family Four (Mann House) and was given Rick Reeve as a sponsor. “I was so down on myself that I needed to try something new, I needed to change,” said Andre. He found relief in A.A., saying, “Let go and let God.” Andre is now attending Hunter College and is in the process of finding a job. One thing that keeps his life in check is hanging around the people in meetings. He said, “Those are true friends.” For the newcomer, Andre suggests getting connected with the people at the school and talking to your sponsor whenever you get the opportunity.
