Courtney R.

Left November ‘08

Courtney R. arrived at The Family Foundation School on October 11, 2007. She was in Family Two during her stay. She was sent to FFS for her drug use and disrespect towards the people who loved her.

Courtney’s biggest struggle while at the school was being away from home. “I didn’t adjust for the first seven months, then I started adapting,” she said.

While at the school Courtney got her life together by being honest and talking to her sponsor. Her biggest help was staff member Debbi Knack. She was involved in chorus and started working hard to pass her classes.

Since leaving FFS in November of 2009, Courtney has gone back to high school and is getting ready to graduate. She is waiting to hear back from colleges she has applied to and is looking forward to the next chapter in her life.

Her advice to the newcomer is to be open-minded. “Girls open up to the girls, and boys open up to the boys; trust people,” said Courtney.
