Anchors Away!... Matt B. and Jens J. display their new anchors presented by family leaders Christine and Woody.

By Jake H.

Wilson House experienced considerable growth in February. With December graduation leaving the family without its long-time senior members, the students have had to take a more active role in the family. “We have some new students and the family dynamic has changed, but we have acclimated to it pretty well,” said Matt B.

Family leaders Thomas Wood and Christine Speicher decided it was time to present anchors to the students who are helping out around the family and the school. Josh R., Matt B., Jens J., and Sam F. received RA pins for all their hard work. Woody and Christine felt that it was time for these students to assume more responsibility and begin to give back to the community.

With the first month of the new year under their belt, the family members have begun to dig-in and take on the new academic semester with vigor. After a good report on the New York State Regents exams, the students are now focused on the work ahead. Regents Exam Scores: Ross A. 93 on the Spanish III Regents Exam, Jens J. 93 and Marc E. 89 on the English 11 Regents Exam.

Senior students graduating in June have also been applying to college and have already been receiving acceptance letters. Jens J. was accepted to SUNY Delhi and SUNY Cobleskill; Ross A. was accepted into Fairfield University; and Chris B. was accepted into Gordon College.
