February is off to a good start in Betton House due to the students’ outstanding grades. For a couple of months, students have been studying hard for Regents exams and other sorts of tests, and the results were beyond excellent.

The majority of Betton House took Regents and nearly everyone passed them, with the majority passing with 80 or above. An admirable example is Luke V. who received a 98 on his U.S. history Regents’ exam. His incredible score gave him eligibility to graduate from high school with a Regents Diploma with Honors.

Although the Regents weren’t for everyone, most Betton House students did great on their report cards and are starting the semester on good terms. “Betton House did a marvelous job on the Regents exams and I’m very proud,” said family leader Mike Ducey.

Ricky S. and Luke V. recently welcomed a new member to the Residential Assistant squad as Liz K. was given an anchor pin due to her good 12-Step work and her strong voice. Liz also received another buddy, Mary L. Many students in Betton House are continuing to step up, and junior sponsoring privileges were given to Adam S. and Jimmy G. Patty R. also received buddy/shadowing.

Betton House is also getting involved in extracurricular activities. Troy P., Nash B., Charlie W. and Jimmy G. are actors in the upcoming play, “The Imaginary Invalid,” and Emilie M. and Patty R. are in show choir/chorus. The house is also smelling Spring as Kayla M. made the softball team and Adam S. and Nash B. made the golf team.
