Class of June ‘08

It has been a while since I have written to The Family Times, and I apologize for that. Life is great. I have been working Monday-Saturday.

I thought my life after The Family Foundation School would be filled with classes in large lecture halls and cafeteria food for four years…but the anxiety left when I found an old friend to help me with my dreams. Not the type of dreams that Katie S. and I plotted up towards her graduation of “200 things to do before we die.” Or the dreams at night I had in the dorm of dramatic feats of rebellious students…which would only happen during times of dish crew, snow shoveling and cleaning crew, of course.

At 19, and with more responsibilities than most adults, playtime is very scarce in my life. However, my work is very important to me; it always has been. Work is going well. I am still head of marketing and design for five contracting companies in Vienna. I am taking on a new division of the company… We have now implemented renovations into our expertise. It is a great niche for me in the company. I have been designing a wedding and event facility that should be built in the upcoming year. It will be in Loudon County, right near Dulles Airport. For now, all I can do is wait because of the large snowfall that has hit Virginia and most of the East Coast.

While in charge of renovations, I will travel to different project sites throughout the East and meet other general contractors and owners of the facilities or buildings. It may not seem too exciting, but I love traveling and meeting new people, so it is right up my alley.

After work I am flying home (speed racing) for my weekly visit with Mom and Dad. My relationship with them now is even better than I could have imagined. Everything has been going well for me ever since I graduated from the school. I was so scared to leave, because people made it seem worse than the world really is. It will soon be two years since I have graduated. Unbelievable. It seems as if yesterday I graduated.

Nevertheless, I still miss you all just as much as the day I left. I hope all is well and that everyone is well as they can be. God Bless.
