Mann House Students Make the Most Out of Sunday Activities in the Cold Winter
By Gabe L.
The sun was up but the temperature down, the wind blowing but the Frisbee’s flying. Mann House students braved the cold weather for some Sunday afternoon fierce competition of ultimate disc.
Each Sunday families get a schedule of activities. Sometimes they are inside, sometimes they are out. On Sunday, February 14, Mann House was given the parking lot to set up their game.
When teams were picked, schoolyard style, by captains Josh W. and Jimmy S., the game began. “At first it was really cold, but after the game got going and I started to run, I warmed up quickly,” said Kevin L.
However, adrenaline fueled the competition just as much as the desire to stay warm.
Pride started to flare when the scores tightened. A Hail Mary pass was thrown by Evan P., from endzone to endzone, and was caught by a diving Phil P. as he landed in a snowbank. He arose with a snow-covered face and was helped up by the hysterically laughing JT H. who shared the enjoyment with teammate, Kevin L.
The two teams battled it out for over an hour, and eventually Josh W. team conquered with a score of five to four.
