Tanning already? ... Aubrey W., Shari E., Cajai F., and Denise T. take advantage of a warm spring day.

With the sweet smells of the spring season emerging, Lake House is blooming with the up-and-coming flowers. Many changes have been cast upon Lake House in recent months but things finally seem to be settling down.
At first, the two merging families seemed to be clashing, but the warm weather always brings people together and with the temperatures in the 60s almost every day, relationships seem to be getting stronger. “We’ve taken a few walks to see Randy’s cows and for some reason we always leave saying how much we love each other, and how our family is awesome!” said Lake House student Larissa A.
Bringing the family even more together, Lake House has welcomed a few fresh faces into their home. Erika C. received her first buddy, Aubrey W., while Mary L. and Josh W. were moved into Lake House to give them both a fresh start. “I needed this new start and I’m glad I was put into a family with staff and students who can help me to acknowledge what I’m going through,” said Josh of his transition into his new family.
New students can even help older students step up and that is exactly what happened with Will H. who received buddying and shadowing inside and out. Will struggled with getting honest with himself and when he finally surrendered, he started to see some results, which included responsibilities.
“We’ve got to keep working and putting our best foot forward if we want this feeling of closeness to remain,” said Erika C. “That means sticking up for our principles and rolling with the punches.” That is exactly what staff and students are hoping for, and what many can expect to see from Lake House in the coming months.
