Jon N.
Class of December ‘07
Jon N. arrived at The Family Foundation School in July of 2006. Prior to coming to the school he was using drugs and alcohol, had been arrested and did jail time.
After coming to the school Jon had difficulty with being honest. He had a hard time trusting people and it took him a long time to begin to work the program. Peace came in Jon’s life when he began to work the steps. “Working the steps while I was here helped me a lot,” said Jon.
Graduating from FFS was hard for Jon. He went to Betton House under the watchful eyes of Roxi and Mike Losicco and made a commitment to sobriety and helping others. He went to meetings and continued to work the steps with a sponsor. “At first I had to keep things real simple; meetings, school, job, homework, stuff like that,” he said.
Jon is graduating from Marywood University in a year and is considering attending graduate school. He advises seniors graduating in June to get involved in a fellowship that is right for them. “Go to meetings, get a sponsor, and meet young people in sobriety,” he said.
